Rafael said "My campbellian friends, who of us has beheld the grail as far as human nature is concerned? I don't mean in a theoretical way, but in a practical, experiential way." I have had the grail experience in relating to others, where I would describe the grail as being a sense of supreme quali...

Aristotle I'm new to forum writing and I'm not sure if I have posted this quote correctly. I went to Quote and then cut and pasted so I shall just have to see how it turns out. Anyway your quote - i><b>If we assume that a great many ancient myths, religions and belief systems served a spiritual/psyc...

I first saw Joseph Campbell too in the Power of Myth Series, but on ABC here in Australia and like you was spell bound. He seemed to be the first person to give me permission to think as I do.

I have just found this thread and I'm going to be flippant and suggest Dame Edna Everidge as our Australian Deity. What about the Bunyip - the creature who lives in the billabongs and waterholes? Or better yet the Wanjina the mythical god of storms and severe weather. I had an amazing experience of ...

Quoting Joe from 'The Power of Myth' page 188 talking to Bill Moyers "The conquest of the fear of death is the recovery of life's joy. Bodhi_Bliss, I particularly love your writing here, and elsewhere in the forum. I have a feeling that there is no ultimate good or evil, just wisdom.
