Iancimouspitt, I would like to respond to your comments from the perspective of Jung's functions of the psyche, of which I am obsessed. It isn't all or nothing. We can understand part of reality, love part of reality, honor part, become one with part, etc. Part is orderly and part is chaotic, but i...

Well, thank goodness not all bacteria are bad. lol In Hogfather, by Terry Pratchett, Death has to save the Hogfather (Discworld's equivalent of Santa Clause). There are some interesting quotes from that story. Here's a couple good ones: “All right," said Susan. "I'm not stupid. You're saying humans...

Scientists also treat religion not as metaphorical of the transcendent mystery but as something factual .. They are stuck with their image, the others guys are stuck with their image, we are stuck with an image... Oh well... :D So do the vast majority of Christians and Muslims at least to some degr...

In my opinion Jason had a profound experience. The type that takes many years to unravel. I do not agree that the Buddha and Jesus taught the same path. The Buddha taught the path of consciousness, which the Hindus call Raja Yoga, whereas Jesus taught the path of love which later became Bhakti Yoga...

Cindy et al... in lighter vein. You can delete this if you feel that I am being too frivolous. -Nandu. I never got this criticism of Campbell. In POM,when talking about Arabian Nights Campbell mentions (i'm recalling from memory) that "their should be more stories like this" when speaking of the woman doing the fighting as opposed to the man. Campbell didn't write the stories,he gave for lack of a be...

I enjoy reading the political frustrations of others. It reminds me of myself. :D To be blunt and perhaps a bit unfair I look at politics ultimately as a losing game putting people at polar opposites of the spectrum where the best interest is not for any of us. I think theirs just too little honest...

I've had plenty of strange and interesting things like that happen. Well not exactly like that but related at least. The one that this thread puts me in mind of was the time my family was heading to my grandparents house. I remember glancing out the car and I found myself staring hard at a tree. For...

Thought I would share this

This does go down more in I guess you could say the realm of conspiracy but it got me thinking about the hidden meanings and symbols within movies and how often it may appear. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMEq6IjgR04&list=PLj3sMMzkGDFV3DFT8g2NB745UF_e8Tr6r&index=29&feature=plpp_video The basic pr...
