It's rare for two people to see everything in exactly the same way, and it's not at all uncommon for Campbell's faithful followers and fans to spot differences of opinion now and then. I'm sure the master would have approved of a healthy give and take in these conversations, woul...

Systems do not have the power to deny "humanity", but they can rob us of lives (like the people in the Congo who are being brutally murdered everyday by rival warlords) or they can simply take away our belief in our fellow human beings.
Okay. Not my quote, but Joseph campbell's.

Is the system going to flatten you out and deny you your humanity, or are you going to be able to make use of the system to the attainment of human purposes?

Yes Richard and when we realize that, then you can see things personal instead of impersonal like society would want us if you live though inside the society and see how much impersonal society rules are then what Carmela said happens.
Thank you.

Lost you. Not sure what you mean.
Hope this helps. Joseph Campbell talks about the claims that society places on you as impersonal. Try and find the Bill Moyers interview with JC.

What exactly is NOT personal? How else can anything be?
That's what politics and social injustice issues do to me.
None of these have any claim to you without your consent.

"Proof" seems to be a relative term, and in emotional (read: "political") terms, it is highly subjective at best and downright malicious when it is misused.
The laws in any country need to be "rationalized". The politics need to be removed. How? I do not know....yet.

That can happen when people and issues come between you and your God. It is just for now.
