Can anyone make sense of this?

I'm not far enough to develop any sense of personal mythology or to analyze my own life in mythic terms but can anyone make some sense out of this? I was born with Apergers syndrome so I suffered a degree of social impairment but I was always three or four years ahead in science and especially math ...

I respect that you are very busy this is not a simple topic. I'm not trying to link archetypes with personalities and my sister is much more versed in psychology than myself over the past few days I've been able to partially familiarize myself with the concepts listed above this has nothing to do wi...

I have to agree with a lot of what that article said many of writers overlook that the setting is a character with the my series mentioned above I actually cut back some of the focus on characterization because I wanted the setting a school campus to be the true protagonist as funny as it sounds. Th...

Character Power

As a writer I am deeply interested in the power of fiction my early series relied on very large casts of one and two dimensional characters to propel them with no clear protagonists though I have since graduated to everything from coming of age stories to historical action thrillers and action drive...

Thematic Questions And Emotional Salvation

I wanted to start a discussion on the topic of thematic questions, emotional salvation and when two of either or both intersect in fiction. Thematic Questions I should make it clear that thematic questions are things that often consume the thoughts of readers/viewers as they watch a narrative or cha...

I agree that a reconceptualization would be best it would be better to shift to a well established field such as emerging archetypes and write with that lens. I'll drop the idea of expanding Campbell's work with new ideas like Unitypes until I've completed my studies and can see if there is any case...

Food for thought indeed! I’ve read the PDF it’s a much better more concise resource then the shallow roundabout stuff I’ve been dealing with. A good instrument for the rigorous test I’ll have to put them under. I was particularly impressed by the diversity of the different hero archetypes I thought ...

I've only got a few minutes so I'll have to wait till tomorrow to go into the details but so far I've found. Sherlock Holmes (disqualified because of rational scientist archetype) David Rice from the Jumper books (great example but disqualified because not popular enough) Samson from John Milton's S...

I forgot just a few things. Part of these characters vitality might be that they are often based on real people the creator tries not to duplicate but to capture the spirit or vitality of a person they have seen in real life or on stage. Another factor is dynamism these characters are often on quest...

Unitypes?

I'm only halfway through The Hero With A Thousand Faces and have recently viewed a good deal of Mythos III. I'm a veteran fiction author and I'm very interested in writing a nonfiction trilogy about characters in fiction across history that I have very tentatively called Unitypes. These would be cha...
