Ron already gave you an example that the ability to deny reality is proof enough that we have free will.. (I really liked that example btw)

It's also kinda paradoxical to say that people have no free will yet at the same time ask them to change their minds... don't you think?

Andreas, I think the transcendent experience comes in flavors like ice cream. One flavor might feature inner piece and another blazing love. Different people relate to different flavors. I believe that individuation, specialization, and diversity are the products of our various experiences. I like ...

He assumes that anyone who believes in free will somehow must also believe in the supernatural. I think his point when believing in contra casual free will (or libertarian free will) we believe in a process that aspects of godlike behaviour, and therefor is the supernatural. ie our choices we make ...

James, I read the links. Very interesting stuff. It will take time to digest. One thing I am having trouble with was the idea that the conscious and the subconscious are in conflict. Conflict implies a two way situation, I can see a person denying or being hostile toward their subconscious, but I c...

Alright thanks for the examples.

Also nobody said that your meditation was wacky on the contrary what I was trying to explain is that all meditations aim to achieve the same goal seems to me.

I dont know Ron, they might use different roads to reach the same destination. Even for Zen someone has to be there to explain it..

Anyways... that's my opinion. :)

I agree Ron, they are not mutually exclusive but if u want to exclusively practice one and not the other it still holds the same impact.. Besides I am of the opinion that u can't separate them(the meditations) anyway... They speak of the same thing. Just in different language..

Seems to me..

Romansh, what is a quantum phenomena and how did it come to exist? lol

I agree with some of the views from the link you gave us Rom. But I also think that the author is making too many assumptions for the rest of us.. As with all general theories I guess..

Ron, I think it was Kafka who said "The whole is not just greater than the sum of its parts, its something entirely different." 8) That being said I agree with Campbell when he said that everything is meditation. Also, for me, transcendence has to provide inner peace otherwise I see no value in it.

Hey lanc,

Agreed :)

Romansh, I hope you didnt misunderstood my reply as not caring for our very interesting conversations. But "The world is fine" is not an argument. If that was true nobody would care to make any conversations or change things but we do. Anyway I hope this is more clear now.

First, Greece is not fine u can be certain about that.

Second, If the world is fine what does it matter if we make it palatable or not? But yeah you are right the world is fine... who cares if we read the scriptures literally...
