Time Breezes

Post by CarmelaBear » Sat Apr 11, 2009 11:26 pm

The past, a movement of history, comes by here. The breeze is sweet and cools the skin of my days. I feel it as a story that relieves the heat of the moment.

It arrives in dreams. It arrives in the light brushing against me on a simple word.

There were dark skies and rugged mountains and great oceans in the long ago. Now, the trees are gone. Now a blazing sun dries the earth beneath my feet. Now the lizards tell me about a thirst that never occurred to the the fish who were his ancestors.

My voice whispers a journey from a place where mystery is well known. In the fullest experience of all-too-real sorrow is found a great source of joy. A harsh desert sun is mitigated by the justice of easy, cool time going by.

Oh, yes! Feel the gentle air move in. Old is new again. The contrast matches perfectly.

CarmelaBear!

Wow! Beautiful. Powerful. Inspiring. Wise.

It touches truth.

If this is any indication, perhaps your gift lies in poetry, rather than politics. :D

Guy!

You're from Idaho. Here in New Mexico, we do not have a One Gift Rule. I've got lots. Don't count me out yet. I'm still breathing and there are still things to do, places to go, and people to meet.

Thank you for the kind words.

Biggie!

"Never" is one of those global words that can place unnecessary limits where freedom is required.

Besides, I'm not clear on what you're trying to say to me, and how it relates to the poem. Maybe you would care to elaborate.

Biggie!

Where've ya been? Good to see you posting.... but also hoping you're not being unnecessarily harsh about Carmela's initial post.

Such staccato statements arouse my suspicions, seeking the solace of softer explanation....

Cheers!

Hi Clemsy!

Methinks that Biggie protesteth too much.

He's a lovely person with possibly a tiny bit of a jealous, cynical streak. I'm sure I've got some qualities that rival those and clear the room even faster!

Biggie, you wish you could see what I see and say it the way I do. For my part, I'd like to be able to figure out how to create something that would change the quality of life in the hear (yes, it's spelled that way on purpose) and now.

Hi Clemsy -
also hoping you're not being unnecessarily harsh about Carmela's initial post.
Reality is a harsh, well, reality. . . how can I adequately answer your hope? Never.
"Biggie, you wish you could see what I see and say it the way I do.

. . . ah, no. You're switching from writer/poet to spokesperson now?

And, in the process stem your readership stampede to the exits, by putting words in your own mouth and not in others'.

Yes, Biggie, reality is harsh. But the key word is 'unnecessarily.' And, being key, defines the line between higher and lower order conversation and the point where my moderator radar starts pinging.

Indeed, what I asked myself after your initial post in this thread, "What does Biggie have against Carmela?"

She writes a rather fine, poetic post, you respond curtly and then call it drivel.

Why bother? Your posting has been lean of late (which I consider unfortunate) and you take the time to poke Carmela in a manner that smacks of the 'personal.' Considering there are other posts around here which almost beg for a guideline violating response (but, due to the profound self-restraint on the part of our associates hasn't occurred), I can only infer some unknown offense.

Carmela... you run over any puppies lately?

 Obviously there's something going on "behind the scenes" here. Maybe when we find our way to this forum we're all on the brink of insanity. Some of us obviously cross the line.

I enjoyed your poem very much CarmelaBear, pay no attention to "rantings and ravings".
