Now available as an ebook! Correspondence by Joseph Campbell - cover Correspondence: 1927–1987

This week join us in celebrating the ebook release of Correspondence: 1927-1987, our latest installment in the Collected Works of Joseph Campbell (hardcover published by New World Library). One of the most intimate portrayals of the world-renowned mythologist, Correspondence was edited and compiled by two of our leading scholars of Campbell and myth today, Evans Lansing Smith, Ph.D. and Dennis P. Slattery, Ph.D., from selected letters Campbell wrote to his many loved ones, friends, colleagues, and critics.
Over the course of their collaboration, Smith and Slattery found “a portrait not just of Campbell but of a remarkable generation of artists, dancers, filmmakers, musicians, spiritual seekers, poets, and novelists, all engaged in the creative powers unleashed by mythology.”
Available in .epub and .mobi formats, you can find more information on Correspondence and other ebook publications at JCF's Digital Downloads archive

ALSO AVAILABLE AS OUR GIFT TO YOU THIS MONTH! The first exciting section of Correspondence, Wanderings: Paris to Pacific Grove

The hero-deed is a continuous shattering of the crystallization of the moment. The cycle rolls: mythology focuses on the growing-point.

THE OJAI FOUNDATION: “Opening the Gates: A Spring Equinox Public Welcome”

Join us this month in celebrating the re-opening of The Ojai Foundation to the public since the Thomas Fire of December 2017. The public welcome will take place March 21, 2020 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The gathering offers a time for reflection, looking back, looking forward, but most importantly appreciating the overwhelming time, efforts, resources, and labor of all the people who contributed to The Ojai Foundation’s return. Coinciding with the Spring Equinox, this special occasion celebrates the Spirit of Renewal in the fullest sense. For information on registration, schedule, and more details, visit The Ojai Foundation’s Events page. Donations are always welcome. Serving as Home and Beacon to one of our very own JCF Mythological RoundTable Groups, The Ojai Foundation has been a wellspring for mythological musings, sacred kindling, and recognition of modern mythopoeic expressions.

In my writing and my thinking and my work I’ve thought of myself as addressing artists and poets and writers. The rest of the world can take it or leave it as far as I’m concerned.

And when you think of this! The number of men who are in fact responsible for the condition of the world right now could all be contained in this room, and they are acting as though there were no way of common understanding. The world is in chaos simply as a function of their inability to assume the middle position in a conversation.
