I’ve been thinking a lot about how the world has been changing during this time, and it occurred to me that mythology provides us an excellent road map for how to survive a moment like this. If you think about it, the people who wrote our myths are essentially telling us “this is the story of how we survived this,” whether “this” is a war, famine, or any other type of trip through something challenging that can be understood metaphorically as a trip to the underworld. Human beings love to share their experiences of the things they did that worked. Many of these became encoded into our myths. Our ancestors have filled the mythic record with stories of how to survive moments like the one we are in now. Myth is more relevant than ever in the current situation, imo.
