Campbell told the story of an African tribe where of its the tribe participated in a communal dance. Campell tells during the dance one of the participants fell into into a trance and his Spirit soared out of his body and he found himself on this mountain top. In this experience, he came to realize he was on every mountain top of the world, and every mountain top was the Center of the world. He realized regardless of where one’s at they are at the Center of the world. That all is one place in God, and while he was in this place of God he had to make himself small.
When this individual, while in God’s Place, had done what he need to do, he began his returned trip to his body. Upon return, he gave out a loud scream which let the tribemen know he has return home, and they would blow on the side of his face and blow their breath all about him. Campbell tells had not the tribement not blew the breath of life upon he would have died, “I would have died I tell you! I would not have been allowed to enter back into my body.” Why is this? How could individual, who came to understand the omniety of God died?
Where one stand they are always standing on Holy Ground in the Center of God. And if one is not in the everlasting arms of the Father at all times when they journey into the world of intellectual humanism, when they attempt to return to the Father’s house they will find they are not under the divine protection of Spirit. Not because they arent, but because the CHOSE to leave their first LOVE mentally, which is a false belief of being separated from God.
The moral here is one can’t just talk it, or read it, talking and reading it doesn’t mean anything. One have to go away daily; repent continuously from their own foolishness. One have to fight the challenges Jesus fought on the mountain top, and Gautama fought in the den of denial. One can reach the mountain top by being lead by the Spirit, but to come out in the power of the Spirit one has to “live by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
How oten have you left your Center in the belief your intellectual thinking were capable of returning to the Father’s house? How often have you prayed: ” But Father, I did this, and I did that, only to find, get thee hence, for when my Sons and Daughters need meat, you fed them intellectual basura.

Thank you for sharing this writing of Campbell’s, this story of the shaman.

What you wrote above reminds me of the story of Moses when he came down from the mountain with the 10 commandments with suddenly-turned-grey hair and the old saying that “One cannot look upon the face of God and live.” I suppose that Moses lived showed his strength and that he was no ordinary mortal but somehow gifted.
