About This Event

Goddesses: A Weekend Retreat with the Feminine Divine

Hosted by the Joseph Campbell Foundation

“And is it likely, do you think, after all her years and millennia of changing forms and conditions, that she is now unable to let her daughters know who they are?” – Joseph Campbell

Join us for a weekend woodland retreat dedicated to mythic goddesses, so you can identify and amplify the sacred energies that resonate most strongly for you. Through music, dance, stargazing, hands-on art projects, and in-depth writing reflections, all in a forest setting of natural beauty, you’ll encounter goddesses from many traditions. As you restore your connection with your own divinity, you’ll also meet other seekers on a similar path.

Together, we’ll experience the embodied power of myth to “exhilarate centers of life beyond the reach of vocabularies of reason,” as Joseph Campbell describes it. Journey with us into the forest to relight the fires of your own goddesses within!

This special retreat will be held July 24-25, 2026, at the beautiful Living Stone event space in upstate New York. Living Stone is located on 38 acres of pristine woodland forest, tucked away in the hamlet of Round Top, NY in the town of Cairo. Imagine breathing fresh, Catskill Mountain air as you walk along the cushioned forest floor dense with soft moss. Relax to the rhythmic song of the waterfall and running stream. Experience the cleansing presence of fire in a hand-hewn bluestone firepit. The elements come alive on the special grounds of Living Stone.

  • Restore your soul with time in a natural forest setting with waterfalls, stone fire pits, and mossy trails through the trees

  • Learn about mythic goddesses from many traditions, each of whom personifies different aspects of the feminine divine

  • Connect with others who hear the call to explore goddess energies

  • Experience the embodied power of myth through the magic of goddess energies
